Zachariasskolan

Zachariasskolan in Nykarleby, Finland is a comprehensive school from pre-school to year 9 with about 550 students operating in the same building with after school club activities.

Through varying working methods, collaboration and a positive learning environment, the school is committed to create conditions where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. The school operational culture is characterized by collaboration, respect for each other and responsibility for the common study environment.

MAIN interiors Oy in collaboration with ISKU was responsible for the interior design of the school. The theme of the school from the beginning was the Four Seasons, which are reflected in the color choices of modules and the furniture. The interior design was implemented following the new Finnish National Core Curriculum principles, and the students are provided with spaces to study in open learning environments, either alone, in small groups or in larger groups.
