Sustainability at ISKU
ISKU has strong foundational structures in its sustainability work, upon which our daily work relies and through which our operations are developed in a sustainable manner. The foundational structure of responsibility consists of the company’s leadership principles (values, mission, vision, and strategy), certified management systems such as the ISO 9001 quality management system, the ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management system, and the PEFC standard-compliant wood origin tracking system. Additionally, at ISKU, we commit to adhering to all relevant laws and regulations in every country where we operate, as stated in our Code of Conduct, as well as the ethical guidelines for our suppliers and the sustainable development goals agreed upon by United Nations member states.
ISKU also has quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety policies in place.
Sustainable Development Goals
The United Nations’ sustainable development goals aim to eradicate extreme poverty and achieve sustainable development that equally considers the environment, economy, and people. There are a total of 17 sustainable development goals, all of which are important and closely interconnected. None of the goals can be pursued at the expense of another. In 2020, ISKU focused its efforts on four key goals:
3: Good Health and Well-being
9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
12: Responsible Consumption and Production
17: Partnerships for the Goals

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible operations do not require an environmental permit. At our company, environmental considerations are integrated into the routines of every employee.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
We take responsibility for the well-being of our employees. Engaged and motivated employees are the foundation of our success.

GOOD GOVERNANCE
We aim to invest in our home country and grow and develop profitably. We remain a domestic company that responsibly expands its international presence.
Responsibility is about actions
“Responsible thinking does not go far; responsible actions do. For us at ISKU, responsibility has always been about actions. We have compiled a list of our responsible actions that we have undertaken in recent years,” says ISKUs Director of Sustainability, Kaisa Vuori
