TYKS Compass Hospital – A Patient-Centered, Integrated Solution

Opened in late 2024, the TYKS Compass Hospital is a key part of the investment program for Southwest Finland’s wellbeing services, aimed at enhancing service accessibility, streamlining care processes, and improving the patient experience. The hospital consolidates multiple services under one roof, providing an environment that facilitates patient movement between different care pathways.

The hospital’s furniture solutions were developed in close collaboration with the design team and staff. This partnership led to the creation of solutions that support the transformation of psychiatric care practices and the adoption of modern service models.

Facilities Designed to Support Smooth Operations and Clear Care Pathways

Compass Hospital offers a straightforward and easy-to-navigate layout, with services located on the same level to simplify movement and reduce transitions. Key design focuses included spatial clarity, safety, and solutions that enhance the efficiency of care processes. The goal was to create an environment that fosters a calm patient journey while ensuring smooth workflows for staff.

The design takes into account the daily needs of both patients and staff. Thoughtful spatial organization, carefully planned service routes, and functional layouts ensure seamless daily operations and effective work processes.

Furniture Solutions that Create a Functional and Safe Environment

In hospital and reception areas, furniture plays a crucial role in supporting efficient workflows, ensuring ergonomic workspaces, and helping to organize spaces clearly. Furniture solutions also contribute to patient safety, guide space usage, and create a calm and reliable environment for both patients and staff.

With the introduction of new service models and structures, the furniture must be flexible, clear, and support the practical needs of daily operations.

A Hospital Designed for Future Needs

Compass Hospital is built to meet both current and future service demands. It supports the evolution of psychiatric care practices and provides an adaptable environment for new services and forms of care. The long-term sustainability, functionality, and flexibility of the spaces ensure that the hospital will continue to serve Southwest Finland’s wellbeing area for many years to come.
