A renovated learning environment that supports creativity and well-being

Located in Vilnius, Lithuania, “Ateitis” School is a public educational institution originally built in 1990. In 2022, the school underwent a full-scale renovation to bring its interior spaces in line with the needs of modern education. The aim was to create a functional and inspiring environment that supports both student well-being and academic achievement.

Collaborative design and implementation

ISKU Baldai worked in close cooperation with architect Agnė Ruokienė from Laumės Architektūros Studija to furnish the renewed spaces. The project focused on developing versatile, user-friendly learning and communal areas throughout the school. Furniture solutions were tailored to match the school’s educational objectives and architectural vision.

New functions for shared spaces

The former corridors were redesigned into multifunctional zones that include a library, spaces for extracurricular activities, independent study areas and relaxation zones. The renewed interiors reflect a clean, functional design approach, where light, color and adaptability support the dynamic needs of today’s learning environments.

Supporting a modern learning culture

The renovation of Vilnius “Ateitis” School is part of a broader national effort to modernize public education infrastructure. The result is a flexible, future-ready environment aligned with STEAM education principles. The school now offers an uplifting setting that encourages collaboration, creativity and continuous development among students and staff alike.
