Vehmaa School

Vehmaa’s new school was completed in 2019. It is built of logs to offer a cozy school day for the students in grades 1-9. The school design process has been aiming at providing quality teaching and learning in a safe and healthy environment. Sustainable development, ecology and minimizing the school’s carbon footprint have been the key drivers in decision making.

In addition to health and comfort, the design of the school, which, has taken into account modern study environments and the versatility of the facilities. Each age group has its own, quiet classroom spaces, which can be opened and combined into larger learning areas when necessary.

After the school day, the building provides an excellent setting for extra curricula activities, as well as spaces for other stakeholders to utilize in their own activities. Thanks to flexibility and selected furniture solutions, the magnificent lobby areas serve as arenas for events and celebrations.
