Kanervikko School

Kanervikko School in the City of Lahti, Finland is a special hospital school for children and adolescents who need long-term medical care. The school operates in new premises near the Central Hospital providing education for the duration of an individual treatment or support period defined for each student. The new learning environments were designed to provide an inviting, nurturing and aspirational environment where the youngsters feel safe, happy and encouraged to continue with their learning, at their own pace.

The furniture solutions are designed to support individualized learning. Different working stations and learning nooks offer everyone an ideal and ergonomic space to learn and thrive. The materials and colors of the space have been chosen to create a harmonious environment that supports the learners to focus on the task, but simultaneously also build the sense of social belonging.
