State-of-the-art showroom in the heart of Helsinki

The fully renovated ISKU Kalevankatu showroom welcomes people in the heart of Helsinki. Along with the renovation, we have boldly set out to change the idea of a traditional furniture exhibition towards a welcoming gallery-like showroom that is open to everyone.

A radical change towards a gallery-like multipurpose space

The lower floor of the showroom was previously used by a bank. We wanted to make radical changes to the interior and surface materials to make the interior impressive, inviting and warm. The space was designed in cooperation with a Finnish brand and experience design agency BOND.

The space is full of beautiful details and special features that tell the story of ISKU. Among other things, the yellow shade of the stairs was inspired by ISKU’s factory premises in Lahti – an hour away from Helsinki. The same yellow can be found in the robot lines of our production facility.

The gallery-like feel is emphasized with changing exhibitions at the front part of the showroom.

“With the regularly changing exhibitions we want to present opportunities also for our partners, customers, and design students to benefit from the central and beautiful location and the large windows of the space,” says ISKU’s Design Director Antti Olin.

The first theme of the exhibition is ecology, which is presented by ISKU’s Kivikko pouffes story. Ecology and the minimization of surplus materials are at the center of Kivikko’s story. The second exhibition features one of ISKU’s newest product families, MyFlow, highlighting nicely the metal “jewelry” piece of the MyFlow chairs.

On the ceiling of the showroom is a floral work designed and executed by ISKU’s interior architect Ulla-Maija Innanen. It is made from surplus textiles from ISKU’s production.

Community event platform for customers and partners

The showroom is built as a community space and an event platform where also our customers, partners and stakeholders can present their expertise. The facility has a framework for organizing various events, seminars, and meetings and serving architectural and interior design offices in particular. The space has a material library that supports design work, and lends itself to versatile work and workshops. With an opening partition, the premises can also be modified to serve as a space for 40-person seminars.

The conference room “Solar” serves also our customers and partners. The conference room’s with its world-class technology has been built in collaboration with 4Business. Get in touch with your ISKU contact person if you wish to utilize the space for your business’ purposes!
