Those who visit Snow Cape, the Finland pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, are in for a treat. The exterior has been designed to replicate a traditional Arabic tent covered in a thin white layer of snow. The interior serves as an avenue for businesses, cultures and people to connect and share ideas.

To ensure each encounter is memorable, ISKU has designed and furnished the VIP and conference area of Snow Cape, the Finland Majlis, with masterpieces of Finnish design. The Majlis provides the companies an outstanding platform to organize corporate events. These events include seminars, workshops, client meetings, media events, lunches, dinners, cocktails, parties and meetings with various interest groups.

Inspired by Finnish nature

The key themes and the furniture solutions at the Finland pavilion “Snow Cape” are related to sharing future happiness and the symbiosis of people, pure nature and technology. Finland’s closeness to nature is highlighted in the product, material and colour choices at the Majlis. The chosen furniture adapts according to the needs. The workstations and the meeting rooms Rasberry, Blueberry and Cloudberry encourage people to work or meet and greet. Variety of space-within-space solutions provide privacy and spots for independent working and physical distancing. Freely placed MyFlow entities around the Majlis invite to have a chat or just enjoy the flow.

Sustainable choices and circular economy thinking

In creating the furniture solutions for the VIP Lounge of the Finland Pavilion, ISKU prefers environmentally sustainable materials sourced in Finland and has a strong emphasis on minimizing the energy consumption and the volume of waste generated during the entire production chain up until the recycling of products at the end of their lifecycle. The design is inspired by Finnish forests and pure raw materials honoring the environmental and social responsibility.

Antimicrobial contact surface for health and safety

In public spaces, we are constantly exposed to infections that spread through contact surfaces, and there are concerns about health and safety. To ensure that each visitor is welcomed into a clean and safe environment, ISKU has furnished the Finland Majlis with antimicrobial furniture. The ISKU+ technology on contact surfaces with permanent efficacy add value especially in health care sector, work environments, schools and other interiors that gather multiple users and encounters.
